self taught artist from northern ontario. i have had an interest in art for as long as i can remember and have dabbled in almost every possible medium since childhood. so far, i have not mastered any of them, however, i have learned so much along the way - about art, and myself. i am currently focusing on abstract alcohol ink and resin artwork.
i was exploring watercolours and fluid acrylics when i discovered alcohol inks, and the vibrant colours and the fluidity captured my heart. there is something about trying to tame and direct something so uncontrollable and unpredictable. i then discovered resin work, initially as a way to preserve and “finish” my paintings. i have since experimented and pushed the limits of what can be done with resin.
I currently offer traditional abstract artwork, hanging moons, coasters, ring holders, quartz ring dishes, phone grips, bowls, ornaments, trays, art calendars, and the list is growing as fast as I can think of new ideas. pressed florals, crystals, glass, natural materials, textures, and gold leaf are frequently incorporated into my work.
my paintings provide an opportunity for the viewer to get lost in the organic details of each piece. layers of colours and textures are only made more magical under a glassy coat of resin.
i strongly believe art is not solely something pretty to hang on your wall to admire from a distance. why not use it and admire it? that’s the beauty of functional art. I love making beautiful pieces that become a part of your everyday life.
on a more personal note: i work a corporate day job, i’m a huge homebody (typical cancer ♋ ), i’m moody as hell (again, typical cancer ♋) i’m a brand new mom to a little boy, and I enjoy camping, fishing, swimming, being in nature, laughing, and hibernating. and art. obviously.
thank you for taking an interest in me, my creative journey, and my art. whether you’re new here or an old friend, i am so glad you’re here.
